Konstantinos Mouchtaridis - 2023

Pigeons voyageurs

Born in 1996, Thessaloniki, Greece. Lives and works between Athens and the Serres countryside, Greece.

Konstantinos Mouchtaridis’ practice blends painting, ceramics, and drawing, exploring the relationship between nature and artistic expression. Mouchtaridis rethinks the images of nature, approaching them as a space for unmediated sensory experiences. Grounded in critical research, his work probes the intersection of ecology and aesthetics.

This exhibited diptych is part of an ongoing series of paintings titled Le droit de Colombier. The series delves into the history of dovecots on the island of Sifnos, exploring their cultural presence and echo, regarding their role in shaping the island’s landscape.
