How to deal with minerals?
Immerse yourself in the world of minerals and learn more about the necessity of their use for a carbon-neutral society within the limits of our planet’s resources.
The transition to a carbon-neutral society is heavily focused on technology and innovation fixes, such as the large-scale shift to renewable energy, the replacement of petrol and diesel cars with electric vehicles, and the digitalization of our societies and economies. And… They all require vast amounts of minerals.
Did you know that between 2015 and 2021, 70% more virgin materials were extracted than what the Earth can safely replenish ?
How about a deep-dive into the world of minerals? Discover how you and your company can deal with minerals within planetary boundaries. An informative and inspiring discussion brought to you in co-creation with Visuality, WWF-Belgium, The Shift, Seas At Risk, Bond Beter Leefmilieu and FairFin.

Geological engineer and explorer of our urban mines, Eric Pirard develops with his research team (GeMMe – ULiège), the techniques of the mineral industry 4.0.
He participates in the advent of a more circular economy of metals by calling on and raising the awareness of all audiences regarding their role as consumer-actor. Founder of Ingénieurs sans Frontières in Belgium, creator of several start-ups and initiator of the MT180 competition in Europe, he claims to be a citizen of the world but remains a proud citizen of Liège! He does not fight windmills but likes to compete with wind turbines. In any case, he wants to act for the well-being of all and for that of future generations to be sustainable.
