Through the ages with ÉRIC-EMMANUEL SCHMITT

Meet the artist behind the writer.

Join the “artist” in a unique conversation returning to the epic project he has been developing for over thirty years: the trilogy “La traversée des temps”. This première conversation at TheMerode will be the occasion to celebrate the launch of the third volume “Soleil sombre” expected in our libraries on November 2nd.

Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt has set himself a momentous challenge with his trilogy; to tell the history of humanity in the form of a novel. Scroll through the centuries, embrace epochs, feel the shocks: Yuval Noah Harari meets Alexandre Dumas!

Bringing together scientific, medical, religious and philosophical knowledge and creating strong, tender and very real characters, he propels readers from one world to the next, from Prehistory to our own time and from evolutions to revolutions, while the past illuminates the present.

With the third volume of the trilogy, Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt takes us back to ancient Egypt, a civilisation that flourished for more than three thousand years.

Full of surprises, “Soleil sombre” recreates a world in full effervescence, of which our modern world has preserved traces, but which remains a sublime and enigmatic interlude in the history of mankind.

Have your book signed by the author.

Books will also be on sale during the event. Feel free to bring your copy for signing.
