Dive into the eccentric and colorful universe of Wes Anderson with “The Royal Tenenbaums”.
TheMerode Cinema Club continues to satisfy the enthusiasts and curious minds with its second theme: Family. A series exploring the convolutions of intra and extra-family relationships.
Royal Tenenbaum and his wife Etheline had three children when they separated. All three children are extraordinary — all geniuses. Virtually all memory of the brilliance of the young Tenenbaums was subsequently erased by two decades of betrayal, failure, and disaster. "The Royal Tenenbaums" is the story of the family's sudden, unexpected reunion one recent winter.
As we delve further into the theme of "Family," we shall explore various facets of family life such as the educational upbringing we received, the challenges of intra-family dynamics, and the impact of social class on familial relationships.
Stay tuned as the movies for our third theme, Work, will be announced in June.
Initiated in collaboration with fellow member, Denis Pennel, this year’s program will showcase three universal themes: Love, Family and Work. What better than to explore their significance through the art of cinema?
