In 1989, Laurence Alia celebrates her 30th birthday with Frédérique – Fred - , her girlfriend. When he reveals his most secret, most burning project, that of becoming a woman, their world turns upside down.
Laurence Anyways won the award for Best Canadian Feature Film at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and received ten nominations at the 1st Canadian Screen Awards.
This film will bring the first theme of TheMerode Cinema Club, which focused on LOVE, to a conclusion after featuring other films like The Piano by Jane Campion and West Side Story by Jerome Robbins & Robert Wise.
