The weight of how we see our bodies

A reflective, no-reading-required book club experience on body image

Our bodies are deeply personal—and yet, our perception of our bodies is shaped by forces far beyond us. Join Kriticos Mwansa for a powerful edition of The Book Club Experience, where we unpack the stories we’ve been told (and tell ourselves) about how we should look, move, and age.

From beauty standards to self-worth, from femininity & masculinity, to media, this roundtable conversation invites you to reflect, listen, and share—no reading required. Kriticos will guide the discussion using quotes, questions, and ideas from key thinkers and writers.

Whether you’ve struggled with body image or simply want to better understand its grip on our culture, this is a space for honest dialogue and fresh perspectives.

Come as you are. Everyone has a body and a story.
