An Intimate Gathering Created by Members, for Members
Small Circles Networking is a member-led breakfast format designed to spark meaningful conversations within our community.
Hosted at TheStables at 8:15 AM, each session is initiated and led by a fellow member who brings forward a topic, question, or area of expertise to explore with others. The format is intentionally intimate, encouraging open dialogue, thoughtful exchange, and genuine connection.
For this session on May 28th, join award-winning journalist Wilson Fache for a guided and interactive discussion on the theme: “How to Report from a War Zone”.
Together, participants will explore the evolving realities and challenges of war reporting today. Armed conflicts have always represented complex environments for journalists, but recent developments have made reporting from certain territories increasingly difficult — and at times nearly impossible.
The discussion will address how governments and occupying powers have imposed strict media restrictions in conflict zones such as Gaza and Ukraine, limiting access for foreign journalists while placing local reporters under growing pressure and danger. The conversation will also explore the rise of weaponised drones and the emergence of inaccessible “kill zones,” profoundly transforming how journalists can operate on the ground.
Through his personal experience in Ukraine and the Middle East, Wilson will offer unique insights into the impact these developments have on press freedom, information access, and the role of journalism in conflict areas today.
Designed as a space for open dialogue and thoughtful exchange, this small-group conversation invites participants to gain a deeper understanding of the realities behind frontline reporting while reflecting on the importance of independent journalism in an increasingly polarised and restricted global landscape.
Breakfast is at each participant’s own cost.
Join the circle, share your perspectives, and connect with fellow members around the table.
Please note that this session will be held in English.
