Reclaiming connection in the age of AI

A workshop on loneliness, artificial intimacy, and the future of our relationships

AI is learning to listen, to comfort, even to care. As technology enters our most intimate spaces, the question is no longer if but how it will shape our relationships — to ourselves, each other, and our work.

The World Health Organization has named loneliness a global epidemic. Now, AI has entered the picture: a friend, a therapist, a companion, a close confidant. Younger generations are forming emotional bonds with chatbots, while companies build business models on extracting intimacy itself.

This isn’t just about technology. It’s about what we are willing to outsource, what we long for, and what we risk losing. In this 90-minute workshop, Monika Jiang, founder of The Oneliness Project, invites you to reflect, move, and engage in dialogue on the future of human connection.

Together we’ll explore:

- Why loneliness matters — not just personally, but structurally

- The rise of “artificial intimacy” and its promises and dangers

- What practices can help us rebuild meaningful relationships in our lives and workplaces

Join us — with or without your AI companion — to reflect, move, and reimagine what real connection feels like!

Monika Jiang

Monika Jiang is a Berlin-based writer and facilitator exploring the space between loneliness, aloneness, and connection. As a second-generation Chinese immigrant in Germany, her work is shaped by lifelong questions of belonging, identity, and intimacy—with oneself, others, and the world. She is the initiator of The Oneliness Project, a growing global community that fosters deep presence, care, and inquiry through gatherings, writing, and workshops. Rooted in movement, creativity, and contemplative practice, Monika draws from meditation, Zen Buddhism, painting, dance, and Berlin’s club culture to tap into the body’s wisdom. Her background spans media, communications, and community-building, with collaborations across companies like Google, Porsche, Salesforce, and Volkswagen. Her mission: to create spaces where people feel seen, safe, and truly connected.
