Discover the next generation of international cello talents.
Renowned for discovering and promoting exceptional young talent, this year’s edition is dedicated to the cello, bringing some of the most promising musicians of their generation to the stage.
The evening, presented in two parts, will feature four semi-finalists. Each candidate will perform a recital with piano accompaniment, as well as a concerto by Michael Haydn, Leopold Hofmann, or Anton Kraft, accompanied by the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, conducted by Vahan Mardirossian.
The programme will begin with a 20-minute introduction by Yvan de Launoit, President of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, offering insight into the history of the Competition and the highlights of this special edition, celebrating its 75th anniversary and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elisabeth and Pablo Casals, one of the most important cellist of the 20th Century.
