As Part of its Cultural Programme, TheMerode Invites its Members to Discover Exhibitions within Brussels’ Contemporary Art Scene.
Join us for a discussion at Augusta Gallery, dedicated to the future of sustainable collectible design and material innovation.
For this special session, Ariane van Dievoet — designer, sculptor, and co-founder of Augusta Gallery — will lead a conversation alongside fellow designers from La Gadoue and Cru Atelier, exploring how contemporary design can rethink production through bio-based, reclaimed, and upcycled materials.
Together, they will discuss the growing importance of sustainability within the collectible design world, the creative potential of discarded materials, and the challenges of combining craftsmanship, innovation, and ethical production in today’s design landscape.
The conversation will be followed by a guided tour of the Depth of Field exhibition, offering participants a closer look at the stories, techniques, and material research behind the exhibited works. From textile installations to stone-and-wood furniture pieces, the exhibition highlights a new generation of designers redefining contemporary luxury through sustainability and thoughtful craftsmanship.
Co-founder of Augusta Gallery, Ariane van Dievoet is known for her poetic approach to material transformation, turning reclaimed wood, marble, bluestone, and mirror fragments into sculptural objects rich in texture and narrative. Blending traditional craftsmanship with digital technologies, her work explores the intersection of sustainability, adaptive design, and material storytelling.
An inspiring gathering designed for design enthusiasts, creatives, architects, and anyone curious about the future of sustainable creation.
