Music Club: Bastian Baker – Art, grit & the Folk Rock grind

Meet Bastian Baker, a folk-rock craftsman redefining the art of song and independent music, with a special showcase to discover.

At a time when more and more artists are building their paths outside the traditional industry, the line between creativity and entrepreneurship becomes increasingly thin.

Folk-rock artist Bastian Baker embodies this duality — a musician whose journey bridges heartfelt songwriting and the sharp instincts of an independent producer.  From intimate solo tours to large-scale creative shows blending music and performance art, he constantly reinvents himself while mentoring emerging talents.

With humor, authenticity, and a deep connection to his audience, Bastian offers a rare perspective on how to thrive as both an artist and an entrepreneur in today’s ever-evolving music landscape. The event will also feature a special showcase, giving attendees a live glimpse into his creative world.

speaker

Bastian Baker

Discovered by Claude Nobs at the Montreux Jazz Festival, armed with his guitar and folk songs, Bastian Baker has consistently avoided clichés and the typical marketed career path. He is an author, composer, editor, performer, producer, and manager. With memorable melodies, clever arrangements, and natural charisma, he burst onto the international scene as a sincere and unexpected artist, drawing inspiration from the world around him. Over 13 years, he has performed 2,000 concerts in more than 50 countries across five continents, at prestigious festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival (CH), Summer Sonic (JP), and Francofolies (FR), as well as renowned venues including l’Olympia in Paris, Blue Note in Tokyo, Hallenstadion in Zurich, and Jamsil Arena in Seoul. Bastian Baker has been widely recognised and awarded, performing as the opening act for Shania Twain on her 2018 world tour, as well as for Bryan Adams and Johnny Hallyday. He has also served as a coach on The Voice Belgium.
