Next up: François Mazure, a familiar face to French-speaking Belgians and the voice behind ‘Un monde à part’, one of RTBF’s flagship programmes. For the past four years, he’s travelled the globe uncovering surprising places, remarkable communities, and extraordinary professions.


Trained as an anthropologist and a seasoned RTBF reporter for over two decades, Mazure brings a unique, human approach to storytelling. On May 21st, he’ll share behind-the-scenes insights, his most memorable filming anecdotes, and practical tips for connecting with people and places off the beaten path.

François Mazure

François Mazure is a graduate of UCL and Solvay and trained as an anthropologist and journalist. He began his career as a humanitarian reporter in the Philippines before writing an award-winning dissertation on the status of women in Nepal. After joining RTBF at the age of 24, he worked on various investigative magazines and became a correspondent for TF1. In 2011, he joined the TV news international unit, covering major world events. In 2014, he launched ‘7 à la Une’. For the past four years, François Mazure has been travelling the world for the magazine ‘Un monde à part’. Far from postcards, he sets off to meet unusual places, astonishing communities and unusual professions. Winner of the prize for constructive journalism in 2020, he remains a key figure in RTBF's documentary programme.

Caroline Chapeaux is a Belgian television, radio and print journalist. A tireless traveller, she is also Travel Designer at Looking for Charly, an agency specialising in creating tailor-made itineraries around the world. An anthropologist by training, she travels the world in search of rare experiences and exceptional addresses. She regularly moderates debates and hosts La Table des Voyageurs at TheMerode.
