TheMerode is delighted to host "La table des cavaliers" – lunch with a real equestrian master
La Table des Cavaliers was born in 2017 from a desire to bring together equestrian enthusiasts and personalities from the equestrian world. Each edition honours a champion, sometimes a legend or a key player in the history of the sport. For example, La Table des Cavaliers has welcomed Olympic competitor Nelson Pessoa, Olympic champion Pierre Durand, and Félix-Marie Brasseur, dressage legend Anne d’Ieteren and Ingmar de Vos, President of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports.
The Table has only 20 seats and cultivates the ambition to offer everyone the possibility to participate in a conversation around the guest of the day.
At this edition, hosted by TheMerode, we invite you to join an international rider, ludo Philippaerts over lunch and conversation. Come and meet this talented horse rider. He will tell us about his beginnings, his present and his horses
speaker
Unconditional love for horses: it’s exactly what Ludo grew up with. As a toddler, he was always to be found in the family stables, heavily impressed by his noble four-legged friends.
Together with Darco and many other horses he is pursuing a tremendous olympic career.
Today Ludo looks back on more than 45 years as a jumper: ‘I’m happy that I could make my childhood dream my profession. I have built everything up myself, from LRV rider to Olympian.’
As the father of Olivier, Nicola, Thibault and Anthony he is making the Philippaerts name a brand and, with great love, built a flourishing family business around it.
