Join the Proud Brusseleirs: Isha et Laurent Hublet

Uniting, Inspiring, and Empowering the Next Generation: The Star rapper and the philosopher-entrepreneur discussing “Bruxelles Mondiale”

“Brussels has everything to shine for generations to come”: Laurent Hublet, CEO of BeCentral and rapper Isha share their experience and ambitions for the universal strength of Brussels.
In his book Bruxelles Mondiale: de Paul Otlet à nos jours (Les Editions Renaissance du livre, 2023) Laurent Hublet tells the story of the « Palais Mondial » a huge social project of the early 20th century initiated by Paul Otlet, that paved the way for the internet and for international governance.

Hublet takes the ambitious project of Otlet as the starting point of a reflection on the roots and identity of Brussels, its diversity, as well as its European and international presence.

How can we reinvent Brussels, united by its richness and diversity? What influence can Brussels bring to the European and global stage? How can the city return to the forefront?

Laurent will be joined by Isha, an exceptional artist with a profound humanistic perspective. Guided by the skilled moderation of Beatrice Delvaux, they will passionately explore topics that resonate deeply with them, such as the crucial role of role models, the essence of cultural roots, and the power of unity in navigating the challenges of the contemporary world.

Join the insightful conversation with three influential figures, providing valuable insights into the future of Brussels.

speaker

Isha was born in Brussels and is the son of Congolese immigrants. Between a life of excess and the inertia of the neighborhood, he sings about the street in its dirtiest and most lyrical form. Vas-y chante, his first album under the moniker of Psmaker, was released ten years ago. Since then, the Belgian has swapped his old stage name for his first name and has found his leitmotif. La vie augmente (Vol.3) — a line from the film La Vie est belle by his uncle Ngangura Dieudonné Mweze — expresses a perpetual and vital growth. With prior experience in the field of social work, Isha firmly believes in integrating this aspect into the realm of music. He established Papa Shango, a unique studio located in Brussels, as a personal commitment to support and empower young individuals, providing them with guidance and motivation to pursue their passions.
