She joined POLITICO in the United States in its formative years in 2007, before moving to Brussels in 2015 to help launch the brand in Europe as its managing editor. Nearly two years later, she returned to the US as a top editorial leader for almost five years. After an interlude at NBC News, directing all politics and elections coverage and overseeing the iconic *Meet the Press* brand, she was the perfect choice to return to Brussels as POLITICO Europe’s Executive Editor and Executive Vice President.

Carrie Budoff Brown is an award-winning journalist and newsroom leader with more than two decades covering politics in the United States and Europe. She is the Executive Editor and Executive Vice President of POLITICO Europe. Before returning to Brussels, she led political coverage at NBC News as Senior Vice President of Politics, overseeing all elections reporting across broadcast, streaming and digital platforms, including the Meet the Press brand. Earlier in her career, she guided POLITICO’s U.S. newsroom and played a central role in launching POLITICO Europe as its managing editor. Her reporting journey — spanning local government, national campaigns, the White House and the European Union — underpins a career defined by editorial innovation and a strong commitment to accountability journalism.
