A guided visit with Laurence Dujardyn (SYBIL)
TheMerode invites its members & their guests to a special guided tour of Forms of the Unseen: Art and Invisibility from the 1960s to Today, led by curator Laurence Dujardyn (SYBIL).
Spanning over six decades, the exhibition brings together more than fifty works, creating a dialogue between key figures of conceptual and post-war art — including Sol LeWitt, Robert Barry, Piero Manzoni, and Lynn Hershman Leeson — and a younger generation of contemporary artists.
Through this cross-generational lens, the exhibition explores invisibility as both a conceptual strategy and a visual paradox. From minimal and monochromatic gestures in painting to the dematerialisation of the artwork in conceptual practices, the works challenge perception and question the necessity of physical presence. In parallel, the exhibition reveals how invisibility can operate as a political tool, exposing hidden structures, systemic violence, and overlooked narratives.
During this guided visit, Laurence Dujardyn will share the curatorial vision behind the exhibition, offering deeper insight into the dialogue between the works and the ideas that shape them.
A unique opportunity to engage with the exhibition beyond the visible, and to experience it through the perspective of its curator.
