An Exclusive Guided Journey through Brussels’ Leading Galleries, Collections, and Artistic Spaces

For one day only, Downtown Brussels Art will take over the heart of the city, celebrating the richness and diversity of Brussels’ contemporary art scene. On Saturday, May 30th, 2026, a curated selection of galleries, institutions, private collections, and independent spaces will open their doors, inviting visitors to explore the city center through a unique cultural journey.

Exclusively for TheMerode members, guided tours will offer a more intimate and in-depth experience of the event. Designed to go beyond a traditional visit, this format provides privileged insight into the exhibitions, artists, and curatorial narratives shaping Brussels today—while fostering meaningful exchanges along the way.

Each tour will navigate through a carefully selected route, bringing together spaces that reflect both the historical richness of the neighborhood and its vibrant contemporary energy. From private collections to experimental venues and artist studios, participants will discover a wide spectrum of artistic practices and perspectives.

Group 1 will explore a selection of emblematic and immersive spaces, including the Vanhaerents Art Collection, presenting Reflections on Breathing by Danish artist Jeppe Hein; UNLOCQ53, an experimental environment by artist Marin Kasimir where architecture and perception interact; From Brussels With Love, where Anne Marie Maes opens her studio and rooftop garden; and St Martin Bookshop, currently hosting Xerografia, an exhibition dedicated to Bruno Munari.

Group 2 will focus on a dynamic dialogue between historical references and contemporary practices across leading galleries and hybrid spaces. Highlights include Galerie Christophe Gaillard, revisiting a landmark exhibition through Le Rendez-vous des amis, 1976–2026Cloud Seven, where art, performance, and research intersect; Wouters Gallery, showcasing works by Elen Braga, Ryo Kinoshita, and Noemi Weber; and Galerie Greta Meert, presenting solo exhibitions by Pieter Vermeersch and Noam Rappaport.

Bringing together a wide range of practices—from painting and installation to performance and research-based work—Downtown Brussels Art offers a unique opportunity to experience the city through a cultural lens. These guided tours provide TheMerode members with a privileged gateway into Brussels’ ever-evolving artistic ecosystem.
