An aromatic workshop with Ophélie from Le Jardin d’Eve
Take a mindful pause and immerse yourself in the fragrant world of local herbs during this unique one-hour workshop at TheMerode, guided by Ophélie, co-founder of Le Jardin d’Eve — a permaculture forest-garden nestled in Ittre, Walloon Brabant.
In this hands-on session, you’ll craft your own personalized fleur de sel, delicately blended with aromatic herbs grown and hand-harvested by Ophélie herself. The base — a rare sea salt from the Île de Ré — is carefully collected from the water’s surface under precise weather conditions, with the same respect and attention given to the plants dried under the sun at Le Jardin d’Eve.
Your jar of herb-infused salt will become a flavorful staple in your kitchen — just a pinch elevates any dish: sprinkle over roasted vegetables, meats, cheeses, soups, grains or fish, or simply pair it with a drizzle of olive oil.
Ophélie will also share the story behind Le Jardin d’Eve, a permaculture haven she co-created in 2017. With a background in geography (ULB & UGent) and experience in waterway management and urban ecosystems, she later trained in herbalism and permaculture. Since 2022, she has dedicated herself full-time to growing, teaching, and hosting events — all rooted in her deep passion for plants and ecological connection.
An experience for your senses, your table, and your soul.
