Tue. June 16, 6:30PM
In the secrets of slow hours, join us in the wine cellar, for a wine tasting of long-gone seasons.
For this special edition, discover the wines of G.D. Vajra, one of the most respected family wineries in Piedmont and a reference among lovers of elegant and authentic Barolo.
Renowned for its precision, refinement, and deep respect for tradition, Vajra has built an exceptional reputation among sommeliers and wine critics alike, often described as one of the best-kept secrets of Barolo.
This tasting session will offer an immersive exploration of the Vajra portfolio, allowing participants to discover the philosophy and identity of the estate across several grape varieties and appellations from Piedmont.
The tasting will begin with fresh and aromatic wines before moving into classic Piedmontese reds such as Dolcetto, Barbera, and Freisa. Participants will then explore the noble Nebbiolo grape through Langhe Nebbiolo, culminating with two prestigious expressions of Barolo — showcasing the elegance, complexity, and ageing potential that have made the region world-famous.
Throughout the evening, guests will gain insight into the characteristics of each wine, the influence of terroir, and the stylistic choices that define Vajra’s approach to winemaking.
A member of the Vajra winery will exceptionally be present to participate in the tasting and share firsthand stories and perspectives from the estate.
This session is conceived as both an educational and convivial experience, ideal for wine lovers wishing to deepen their understanding of Piedmont and one of its most admired producers.
The session will be hosted by Benoît Lambillotte, Curator of TheMerode Cellar Society.
The Stables Brasserie will remain open in the evening. If you wish to enjoy dinner after the program, you are welcome to reserve your table through this link: Reserve your table
