As Brussels kicks off the new art season with RendezVous, TheMerode returns on September 6 and 7 with a special weekend lineup.
To celebrate the start of the new cultural and artistic season, TheMerode will open its doors on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September as an official venue for RendezVous — Brussels’ new annual event marking the launch of the city’s contemporary art calendar.

On the programme for Saturday, September 6:
11 am : Club opening
1 pm & 2.30 pm : Guided Tour of Energia with curators Benedicte Goesaert and Kathleen Weyts
4 pm : Performance, Breaking free: The Circus by Lieven De Boeck
The Merode becomes a live stage as De Boeck reimagines roles in the art world—from artist to visitor to artwork.
5:30 pm : Launch of GLEAN’s September Issue — This issue explores artistic ties between Belgium and Brazil, with voices like Françoise Schein, Jota Mombaça, Bruno Baptistelli, Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, and more.
6 pm : Artist Talk — A talk with artists Els Opsomer, Marcin Dudek, Bart Lodewijks and co-curator Benedicte Goesaert, moderated by Kathleen Weyts.
7 pm : End
TheStables remain open for food&beverage à la carte from 11 am to 5 pm.
Oken cocktail bar remains open on reservation for cocktail experience at night from 7 pm onwards.
