William Kentridge’s legendary ‘Faustus in Africa!’ revisited.
We’re happy to renew our partnership with Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Brussels’ leading international festival for contemporary theatre, dance, performance and visual arts. Every May, the festival brings together bold and timely artistic work, supporting both well-known and emerging voices. It’s one of the city’s most sought-after cultural events.
That’s why we’ve secured privileged access for 14 seats to one of the standout performances for you: ‘Faustus in Africa!’ by South African visual artist, filmmaker and theatre director William Kentridge, created in 1995 with the Handspring Puppet Company to address the anti-apartheid struggle. Tickets can be purchased directly on our website until April 25 - first come, first served.
For this special performance, Kentridge has reworked the legendary piece, linking it to 'extractivism' and politics in today’s South Africa and the world as a whole. Sadly, the question posed by the original theatre classic remains relevant: Are we willing to betray ourselves and make an ill-fated deal with the devil for short-term gain?
