Gilles De Schryver is a multifaceted Belgian artist, celebrated for his contributions to film, television, and theatre. As an actor, writer, and producer, Gilles has built a diverse career, earning acclaim for his creative versatility and commitment to impactful storytelling.
Gilles began his career in theatre, becoming the artistic director of the renowned Flemish company het KIP. As a playwright and performer, he has toured award-winning productions across Europe in Dutch, English, and French, showcasing his talent for dynamic and thought-provoking performances.
In film and television, Gilles is best known for his roles in the hit series Code 37 and the internationally acclaimed feature film Hasta La Vista (Come as You Are), which won the People’s Choice Award at the European Film Awards.
As a producer, Gilles co-founded De Wereldvrede and under his leadership, the company has produced groundbreaking projects, including the critically acclaimed TV series Bevergem, the feature film Cargo, and most recently, Julie Zwijgt (Julie Keeps Quiet), which premiered at Cannes Critics’ Week in 2024. The film received the Gan Foundation Award for Distribution and was selected as Belgium’s entry for the 97th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.
