TheMerode invites you to join us for an evening of music, movement, and vibrant energy with Aquiles Navarro, a Panamanian-New Yorker trumpeter, composer, DJ, and founder of the Panamanian music label River Down Records, now based in Brussels.

Known for his expansive sound and fearless approach to music, Aquiles Navarro moves fluidly between jazz, soul, Latin traditions, electronic music and amapiano, creating a musical universe that is both deeply rooted and endlessly contemporary.

A founding member of the boundary-pushing ensemble Irreversible Entanglements, Navarro draws inspiration from the rich folkloric traditions of Panamá, as well as salsa, reggae, experimental jazz, and electronic production. His work is defined by a spirit of exploration, improvisation, and collaboration, constantly bringing together different cultures, genres, and artistic disciplines.

For this special DJ Night at TheMerode, Aquiles will take over the decks for a sun-soaked and tropical journey, blending jazz, soulful rhythms, Latin influences, amapiano, and eclectic electronic sounds. Expect a warm, uplifting and deeply rhythmic atmosphere designed to make you move, connect, and let go.
