TheMerode Music Club Live - Music is the new Fashion

Join Charlie Faron, singer-songwriter and founder of Encré., and Diane Marois for a conversation on the interactions between music and fashion. A discussion followed by a performance by the artist.

The event of the beginning of the summer was undoubtedly Pharell Williams' fashion show for Louis Vuitton on the Pont Neuf in Paris. It was the apotheosis of a fashion trend that has been gaining ground in recent years.

Putting the creative genius of musical artists to work for clothing brands. These collaborations displace the lines, frameworks and models of the textile industry, giving free rein to the vision of self-taught artists.

Charlie Faron, singer and designer of the Parisian brand "Encré", who is opening a brand-new boutique in Brussels, will talk to us about his experience and share his point of view on two main questions: What does this trend reveal about creative processes and the fashion industry of the 21st century? and How do these two industries influence each other?

After the conference, Charlie Faron will give you a glimpse of his last music project during an intimate showcase.

Charlie Faron

Singer-songwriter and self-taught artistic director

Charlie Faron: A colourful figure on the Paris fashion scene, Charlie Faron is a singer-songwriter and self-taught artistic director. He is the founder of the Encré. brand and the head of the Encré.mp3 label. In 2022 he released his first EP, Pensées. Having spent his childhood in the United States and learnt English before French, he took up a challenge that was no mean feat: singing in French. From his first demos in the language of Shakespeare to the electro-pop project 228k, he has freed himself from his constraints. In the spring of 2023, he released a new EP, Super Positions. On the fashion front, he has just successfully raised funds to open 'Encré.' outlets in various European cities, starting with Brussels.
