TheMerode Music Club Live — Jazz music is back

Nu Jazz, Electro Jazz, jazz music is back through new forms and genres. Follow the musical journey of a millennial artist from House music to Jazz: Tour Maubourg. With Diane Marois.

Tour Maubourg is a child of his generation, a dj and house producer who, over the past few years, has established himself on the Parisian, Belgian and European scenes with his introspective, gentle, spatial and slightly nostalgic style.

From digital to instrumental, from solo creation to co-creation, the story of Tour Maubourg is that of an initiatory and musical journey over which hovers the shadow and influence of Roy Ayers, Emir Deodato, Nicolas Jaar, Bill Evans, J Dilla, Q Tip, Chet Baker.

A story of note, vibration, transgenerational quest and fraternal encounters, which he will recount before offering us an exceptional live mini-concert alongside his saxophonist Ismael Ndir.

speaker

Tour-Maubourg is a flag bearer for the modern electronic underground scene in France. His releases have positioned him as one of the country's most exciting producers in recent years, leading the way in France's nu-jazz and house scenes, and accumulating millions of Spotify streams for lauded tracks like 'Ode To Love', 'Manhattan To Brooklyn', and 'Artifice'. Reminiscent of artists such as St Germain, Nicolas Jaar, and Ron Trent from bygone eras, his debut album 'Paradis Artificiels' received acclaims upon its release in 2020, garnering recognition from Tsugi, Trax, DJ Mag, Libération, Radio Nova, Dure Vie and many others. His highly anticipated new album 'Spaces of Silence', released in early 2023, and already recognized by critics, further showcases the eclecticism of his sound, blurring the boundaries between soulful house, nu-jazz, and much more.
