A Collaboration with Céline Pijcke, founder of Art & Fun
Meet Céline Pijcke, art historian and founder of Art & Fun, and discover the unexpected artistic potential of the most iconic symbol of Halloween — the pumpkin.
The experience will begin with an introduction to Céline’s world: ten years of bringing art and creativity into schools, private events and intimate workshops for both children and adults. Through her practice, she has made art accessible, playful and deeply personal — and this session is no exception.
The workshop will then become hands-on. Each participant will carve their own pumpkin, guided step by step through the process of hollowing, designing and sculpting. For those who wish to go further, the experience offers a second creative layer: decorating the pumpkin in the spirit of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, using polka dots, colour and pattern to transform a seasonal object into a small work of art.
No artistic experience is required. Each participant will take home their own creation.
A playful, creative and convivial experience blending art history, craftsmanship and a touch of the uncanny, on the occasion of Halloween at TheMerode Club.
