Sound&Vision: DJ Set by Micha Volders, VJing by Miet Warlop

From stage to soundscape, Miet Warlop and Micha Volders extend the conversation through rhythm, light and movement at Ökēn.

Following the talk, Living Sculpture, Moving Sound with Miet Warlop and Micha Volders, the experience continues with a live set and VJing by the artists.

For one night, TheMerode and Ökēn hand the floor to the Miet Warlop and Micha Volders, who shape a custom audiovisual environment where sound, light and colour unfold as a one-hour immersive experience. More than an after-talk, the evening continues the exchange beyond words, through rhythm, image and collective presence.

Rooted in TheMerode’s vision of dialogue and creative exchange, the night reflects a shared ambition to build community through collaboration. Exploring transformation, movement and emotional resonance, the project embodies Warlop’s gift for approaching unexpected subjects.

This unique set celebrates art as a living space for encounter, experimentation and shared energy.

Micha Volders

Micha Volders is a musician, producer, filmmaker, and lecturer at PXL Music. He is active in projects such as Vermin Twins, GameboyzIImen, and Meteor Musik. His work focuses on the construction of autonomous sound worlds in which rhythm, texture, and repetition play a central role, often reinforced or extended through a strong visual component. Sound and image are treated as parallel systems rather than illustrative layers, allowing space for abstraction, friction, and ambiguity. He has produced albums for Gruppo Di Pawlowski, Whispering Sons, and The Germans, and collaborated with visual artist Miet Warlop, resulting in the album ICCHĀ. His inaugural and debut short film SǒN is currently touring international festivals and has received multiple prizes and distinctions, including Best Narrative Short at the Itaewon Film Festival and Best Original Score at the Wallachia International Film Festival. Volders is the founder of the labe Mutropia, through which he releases his work on vinyl.
