La Table des Voyageurs at the edge of Greenland

An intimate lunch delving into Greenland, at the intersection of science and adventure.

Greenland is the world's largest island, buried under an ice sheet so vast it holds nearly 10% of the planet's freshwater, the second-largest reserve on Earth. It also sits on significant mineral and energy resources, and its melting ice is opening new Arctic shipping routes, making it a territory of growing scientific and geopolitical interest.

It is this extreme and strategic terrain that the nonprofit IMAQA has been exploring since 2023, leading scientific expeditions across some of the planet's most inaccessible landscapes to collect critical data and samples on behalf of researchers.

In a lunch-conversation moderated by journalist and travel designer Caroline Chapeaux, Kyril Wittouck, co-founder of IMAQA will share firsthand accounts from Greenland: what it takes to work in one of Earth's most extreme environments, and why the world is watching it so closely.

About IMAQA

IMAQA is a Belgian non-profit organisation that organises expeditions to remote parts of the world, with the aim of advancing scientific research, whilst raising awareness and engaging future generations as much as possible on this subject.
