Investing in private companies after the capital gains tax

Do purpose and performance still align under Belgium’s new fiscal rules?

How is the appeal of private company investment changing under the capital gains tax? This discussion explores the key drivers for backing Belgian private firms today, examining both financial returns and broader value creation.

The discussion will consider the performance of the Belgian private sector, the impact of tax changes, and whether companies should open equity to employees. It will also touch on shareholder structures, business transfers, and the evolving interplay between financial and extra-financial value.

The session will bring together Matthieu Sabonnadière, Head of Equity Incentives and Senior Wealth Manager at Banque Transatlantique, Benjamin Wayenberg, Co-Founder of Purple Shares and Claire Munck, CEO of BeAngels and Managing Partner at Scalefunds, combining perspectives from private investors, banking professionals, and employee share ownership specialists.

Together, they will provide a concrete framework for making informed investment decisions while reflecting on the role of capital in shaping sustainable business practices.

This event is powered by TheMerode's partner BeAngels.
