Inside Journalism: Meet Euronews’ Maria Tadeo

A conversation with the Chief Europe Editor of Euronews.

Few people are better placed to understand journalism across Europe than Maria Tadeo. A veritable human dynamo, she has covered all aspects of European economic and political life for more than a decade.

At Euronews, her schedule is punishing. She oversees its European news division and television formats as well as penning a weekly ‘Off the Record’ newsletter spanning the continent and often written as she travels from one high-level event to another.

Previously, Maria led Bloomberg Television in Brussels for more than five years, having cut her teeth in her native Spain as an economy and government reporter for three years earlier.

This conversation moderated by Victoria Main will dig into what drives Maria’s dedication to journalism and where she finds her energy. She will talk about the challenges posed by the fast-moving media scene in Brussels where the battle for talent and scoops is fierce. She will also give insights on how she secures interviews and where she sees journalism heading in Europe.
