A screening of Flow, followed by a conversation on ecological storytelling, Belgian co-productions, and the art of doing more with less
In a world of high-budget animation and global franchises, Flow stands apart. This haunting, dialogue-free film—crafted between Latvia, France, and Belgium—became one of the most acclaimed animated features of the year, winning the Oscar with a modest €3.5 million budget.
We’re delighted to welcome Alon Knoll and Gregory Zalcman, co-founders of the Brussels-based production company Take Five and key producers of Flow, for an in-depth conversation on how this extraordinary project came to life.
From the Belgian tax shelter that made the film possible to the collaborative spirit of European co-productions, Flow is a story not only of artistic vision but of quiet ingenuity. It’s also a reflection of Belgium’s growing role in the global cinema landscape—a small country with a deep tradition of building bridges, now leading in creative partnerships.
The screening of the film will start at 7h00 pm, and will be followed by a pause. The talk will start at 8h45 pm.
