Exhibition Opening: In Sole Ambulare

Come celebrate and discover with us In Sole Ambulare, our new in house exhibition.

TheMerode is delighted to present its fifth exhibition, curated by Emmanuelle Indekeu. This exhibition will be an immersion into the complex and bewildering universe of Albert Camus’ famous novel “L’Etranger”. Inspired by the enigmatic character of Meursault, this exhibition explores the underlying themes of the work.

Entitled "In Sole Ambulare", the exhibition features the Sun, omnipresent in the novel, as a character in its own right. It burns, dazzles, and acts as a revelator, bringing out the "truth" and cruelty of the world.

“In Sole Ambulare” confronts us with our own otherness, our own absurdity. It invites us to walk in Meursault’s footsteps and explore the intricacies of the human soul.

Come and discover works by emerging and established artists, generously loaned by private collectors, galleries, artists and institutions.
