Lukas Dhont

Lukas Dhont, an eminent Belgian film director and screenwriter, has emerged as a powerful voice in contemporary cinema. With his debut feature, 'Girl', Dhont received global acclaim, capturing the Caméra d'Or and the Queer Palm at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. His storytelling bravely tackles themes of identity, transformation, and the complexities of adolescence. His second film, 'Close', continued his exploration of intimate human experiences, earning the Grand Prix at the 2022 Cannes Festival and an Academy Award nomination. Dhont’s films challenge and inspire, making him a significant figure in international cinema.

Britt Valkenborghs is deeply entrenched in the world of film, writing, and presenting. Having recognized her love for the art of storytelling through film, Valkenborghs pursued studies in theater and film studies, honing her understanding of narrative construction and cinematic techniques. After her academic pursuits, she ventured into the industry, where she gained invaluable experience behind the scenes. Subsequently, Valkenborghs transitioned into the role of a film reporter, writer, and videomaker, contributing her insights and analysis to esteemed media outlets such as DPG (including Qmusic, VTM Nieuws, and De Morgen), Canvas, FilmFestival Oostende, Film Fest Gent, De Standaard, and Streamz.
