A taste of Veneto: Exploring Soave Classico wines

Discover the Garganega grape and the unique qualities of the volcanic soil that nurtures Soave Classico during an intimate wine tasting in Ciao's cellar.

Located in Brognoligo, a little village at the heart of Soave Classico, Le Battistelle is a winery born from the passion of the Dal Bosco family.

Join Gloria Dal Bosco as she tells us about the story of her family and the birth of Le Battistelle, a small producer of absolute quality located in the heart of Soave Classico. 

She will guide us through the origin and evolution of Soave Classico, exploring its signature grape, La Garganega, the volcanic soil of the Veneto region, and the heroic viticulture practices. All this will be accompanied by a tasting of some of the most iconic wines from the Le Battistelle estate:

Gloria Dal Bosco

Gloria Dal Bosco is a young sommelier with a deep passion for Soave Classico, rooted in 13 generations of families dedicated to growing Garganega grapes in Brognoligo, the heart of Soave Classico. After becoming sommelier in 2017, Gloria pursued studies related to her personal interests in olive growing and wine tourism. Today, she works alongside her brother Andrea in the family business, Le Battistelle, where they continue the tradition from harvest to vinification. Gloria also travels extensively to help people discover or rediscover the beauty of Soave Classico around the world.

Giampietro Faggionato

Giampietro Faggionato hails from Verona, a city renowned for its fine wines and beautiful hills. He earned his first degree in economics and management from Trento and then pursued a master's in marketing in Milan. This academic journey included a six-month stay in Australia for research on the Australian wine market, which he later connected to the Italian market. His passion for wine grew immensely from this experience. In 2016, he moved to Brussels and started his own business importing wines from small Italian producers, leveraging his previous experience in the Horeca and events industry. Currently, Giampietro continues to develop his import business and runs a small catering company in Brussels.
