A guided tour of Africa Legacy, cradle of art

The introduction will be given in French, while the guided tour will be conducted in English.

Under the curatorship of Didier Claes, ‘Africa Legacy, cradle of art ‘ brings together more than 250 classical and contemporary works from private and institutional collections in Brussels. Presented at the Espace Vanderborght with the support of the City of Brussels and the Congolese Cultural Center, the exhibition offers an immersive journey through the ages, revealing the continuity of African forms, symbols, and imaginations.

From classical art to contemporary creations, visitors discover a continent in motion, whose visual cultures have continually nourished, inspired, and transformed the global history of art.

Africa Legacy invites visitors to look, to feel, and to let themselves be moved by the beauty of the works, while affirming Africa's essential place in the universal history of artistic creation.

From September 4 to November 1, 2026.
