Our meeting rooms and workspaces each have their own personality, style and purpose. They are ideal for conducting business, allowing concentration and having important conversations.

Enter TheMerode courtyard, push open the doors and receive a warm welcome from your club’s reception team. Our lounge bar, TheStables, offers the best breakfast in town, as well as a modern food menu by JML for lunch or afternoon tea as you work or relax. In the evenings, the lounge bar is an elegant spot to enjoy drinks and cocktails by our mixologists.

Curated by Isabelle Arpin, Ciao restaurant offers fine dining with a seasonal Italien cuisine.

The Place Poelaert wing hosts our newly refurbished rooms decorated in an 18th-century style, offering elevated event spaces and a ballroom for premium events amongst our curated and ever-evolving art collection.

The Rue aux Laines wing constitutes three contemporary event spaces and a screening room.

TheMerode is reinventing the purpose of a members club, giving it a collective and social take.

The origins of the Hotel Merode date back to the first half of the 16th century. It wasn’t until 1791 that the building took the name of Hôtel Merode.

In 1863, Charles de Merode, then President of the Senate, ceded to the Belgian State most of his “lovely secular gardens” surrounding the building the Hotel Merode now occupies, which was his family home. This allowed the important construction of the Palais de Justice on Place Poelaert, known at the time as Place de Merode.

In 2010, the private historic mansion of 6,000m² was restored by the Cercle de Lorraine. In 2020 TheMerode team took over the club transforming it into the first club in Brussels. TheMerode, the most open private club, opened its doors in November 2021.

Our team is divided into; community and communication management, programme and experience management, private events, and administration and accounting. Hardworking and creative, our team wants to get to know you, so we can build on TheMerode’s mission and ethos together.
