Speakers:
Hippolyte Wouters is a lawyer at the Brussels bar as well as a playwright and essayist.
He wrote an essay on “l’Humour chez Proust” and another entitled “Tocqueville humoriste” on the relationship between Corneille and Molière, which caused quite a stir at the time.
He is the author of 15 plays written in prose or in alexandrine, for which he was awarded the Grand Prix de l’Académie de la Ville de Paris. His plays have been performed in Paris, London, Washington, Moscow, Rome and Lisbon amongst other places.
He has received Le Grand Prix de l’Académie de langue et littérature française de Belgique and was made Officier des Arts et des Letters de la République Française for his literary work.
