About Francesco Genuardi:

Francesco Genuardi was born in Brussels on 7 July 1967. He is an Italian diplomat with the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary and 28 years of experience in various sectors of international relations. He graduated in law from the Università Statale di Milano in 1991 and started his diplomatic career following the State competitive examination in May 1993.

Between 1993 and 1998, he worked in the Directorate General for Economic Affairs, dealing with international environmental affairs, and later at the Press and Information Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Press and Information Service. Between 1998 and 2002, he was Deputy Consul at the Consulate General in Buenos Aires. Between 2002 and 2005, as Counsellor at the Permanent Representation to NATO, he managed, among other things, relations with the accredited media in Brussels and with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

From October 2005 to 2016, he worked in the Minister’s Office for the various successive Foreign Ministers for eleven years, dealing mainly with parliamentary affairs. From November 2014 to March 2016, he was Head of the Parliamentary Liaison Office in the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr Paolo Gentiloni.
Then, from March 2016 to April 2021, he was Consul General of Italy in New York, with responsibility for the State of New York, as well as the States of New Jersey and Connecticut.

He took up his duties as Italian Ambassador to Belgium on 2 April 2021.

About Hakima:

Hakima Darhmouch graduated in communication. In 2014, she obtained an Executive Master in Management at Solvay Business School. She made her debut in radio in 1999, and a few months later joined the team of reporters at RTL. As a journalist, deputy editor-in-chief and presenter of the most watched news programme in French-speaking Belgium for 12 years, Hakima also covers political news. In 2018, she made a major professional change by joining the public service. She joined the management committee of RTBF where she was in charge of the “Culture” department for more than three years. In 2021, Hakima Darhmouch decided to take up new professional challenges in line with her personal aspirations. She is now a communication consultant at akkanto. Since 2021, she is board member  at Bozar and the Atomium.
