Miradas de Mujeres (Women’s Gaze) is a dialogue between two women who share a love for fabric, patterns and colours; a women's perspective on the artist’s role in society.
Miradas de Mujeres (Women’s Gaze) is an exhibition that highlights the view of Isabelle de Borchgrave on Frida Kahlo, one of the most iconic female artists of the 20th century.
It took Isabelle de Borchgrave almost three years to create Miradas de Mujeres, a titanic work painted by hand. By using more than 4 kilometers of paper and cardboard she created dresses, carpets, furniture, trees and other elements reproducing the unique universe of Frida Kahlo and her iconic house, the Casa Azul.
The exhibition invites the public to dive into the joyful paper universe of Isabelle de Borchgrave and to be inspired by the generosity of this contemporary artist whose creative practice remains resolutely incomparable.

SPEAKER:
Isabelle de Borchgrave is a leading Belgian artist and sculptor, best known for her colorful paintings and painted paper sculptures.
Alternating between canvas and paper and paper and bronze, her colorful paintings and delicate sculptures have been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Belgium, Switzerland, France, Japan, Brazil, the United Kingdom and the United States from 1979 to the present.
Isabelle de Borchgrave has collaborated as a fashion and interior designer with major brands such as Christian Dior, Hermès, Comme des Garçons, Villeroy & Boch, Pierre Frey or Ligne Blanche to name a few.
